Community Connect Fund 2024
Sustainability is always a key focus for us here at Kingsriver. We are delighted and hugely grateful for St Canice's Credit Union for accepting our project entitled, Sustainable Brighter Future, into this years Community Connect Fund!
More on the fund can be found here: https://stcanicescu.ie/community-connect-fund-in-now-open/
There are two aspects to our Sustainable Brighter Future, LED Lighting and Zero Plastic Initiative.
LED Lighting:
The implementation of LED lighting throughout our centre many benefits for individuals with autism and the environment. For people with autism, LEDs offer a more comfortable, adaptable, and healthier lighting solution that can significantly improve their quality of life. Environmentally, LEDs contribute to energy conservation, lower carbon emissions, and reduced ecological footprint!
Zero Plastic Initiative:
The Plastic-Free Water Bottle Initiative aims eliminate the use of single-use plastic water bottles within Kingsriver. This initiative aligns with our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices! The initiative arose in response to growing concerns about plastic pollution. By transitioning to reusable water bottles and alternative hydration solutions, we aim to significantly reduce our environmental footprint and promote a culture of sustainability within Kingsriver!
The implementation of both element's of this project will add amazing impact to overall sustainability of Kingsriver and our centre moving into the future!
Massive thanks to all staff involved in co-ordinating the project, your incredible hard work doesn't go unnoticed!
Huge thank you to the guys over in St Canices Credit Union (https://stcanicescu.ie/) for making the project possible!
